File request links

Send a public, branded upload link to anyone — your client, a supplier, a contractor — and have their files land directly in the project. No login, no portal account, no email attachments.

How it works

Open the project, find the Files panel, and click Create request link. You get a tokenised public URL you can share by email, WhatsApp, or anywhere else. Anyone with the link can drop files at that URL — no login needed.

Files uploaded through a request link land in the project's file area, are scoped to your workspace storage quota, and are visible to your team immediately.

Optional limits

Per request you can set:

  • Label — what the files are for (“Brand assets”, “Site photos”), shown to the uploader
  • Max files — limits how many files a single uploader can drop
  • Expiry date — auto-revokes the link after that date

You can revoke a link at any time from the project's file panel. Revoked links return a friendly “link no longer accepting files” page.

What the uploader sees

Your workspace logo, your brand colour, and a clear drop-zone. The page is mobile-first — clients on a phone can pick from camera, gallery, or files. No CoPortal branding is shown on the upload page when you're on Studio+.

Tip: For ongoing projects, share one persistent request link with no expiry. For one-off briefs, set a 7-day expiry so the link can't be re-used after the project starts.

Security & storage

Each link uses a long random token in the URL — only those you share it with can use it. Uploaded files count against the workspace storage limit on your plan. We track upload counts and last-used timestamps per link for audit.
